Thanks to this smartwatch, you can now run without a heart rate strap as it has a built-in sensor that uses Mio Heart Rate Technology to efficiently measure heart rate at the wrist. It features a colorful gauge that identifies your heart rate zone and beats per minute in real time.
This Forerunner watch uses an optical sensor which shines light into your skin, detects slight changes as blood pumps through the wrist, and measures the amount of light returned to determine your heart rate. A light seal at the back of the watch blocks out ambient light for proper heart rate detection.
The built-in GPS helps calculate the distance and pace. Moreover, the inbuilt accelerometer captures distance and pace data while running on an indoor track or a treadmill, without requiring a separate foot pod accessory. It can also be used as an activity tracker to count the steps and calories burnt all day.
Download the free Garmin Connect™ Mobile app onto your smartphone and pair it with your watch using Bluetooth to save, plan, and share your activities. When you complete your run, the stats automatically get uploaded to your phone when it's in range. The live tracking feature lets your friends keep a track of your stats in real-time.
The rechargeable lithium-ion battery lasts up to four weeks in watch mode and up to 10 hours in GPS mode with optical HRM. This watch comes with a 5 ATM water rating.
