The book is an easy read that can be followed by any child above 12 years. I bought it to read it myself, and found it refreshing and succinct. The book gives a simple and clear picture of the Buddha's life and times. It brings alive the atmosphere, the issues of the day and Siddhartha's motivations in a lucid style.

He is shown to be human, yet his thought leadership shines through the narrative. The book goes beyond the religion and puts his life in context and perspective.

It's a good book, but it does not have teachings of Lord Buddha and stories of his teachings, it is having details about his life.
