Dr. Girish P. Pant holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Reading, England. He obtained his Master of Arts (M.A.) in Economics from the University of the Philippines and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Economics and Mathematics with distinction from Sophia University, Japan. He stood First Class First in Intermediate of Arts (I.A.) with distinction in Mathematics and Psychology from Tri-Chandra College, Nepal. His publications include Foreign Aid, Economic Growth and Social Cost-Benefit Analysis : Some Experiences from Nepal, Avebury Publishing Company, England and Some Aspects of Economic Planning : A Case Study of Nepal (co-author), Vikas Publishing House, New Delhi. He has contributed numerous articles to various journals and newspapers. Dr. Pant has worked as a Lecturer (Deputy Research Officer) at the Centre for Economic Development and Administration, Tribhuwan University and served as an Advisor at the National Planning Commission (NPC) for a number of years.
