Innovating Science Acids, Bases, and The pH Scale Kit
Kit for determining differences between acid and base properties, the role of hydrogen and hydroxide ions in acids and bases, and the relationship of pH scale to acid and base strength Activities for examining effects of acids and bases on several chemical pH indicators, identifying pH of common household materials, and determining composition of four unknown clear solutions Materials for 15 groups of students for hands-on learning Teacher's manual and student study guide copymasters for instructional use Suitable for age 13 and older with adult supervision
Innovating Science acid, bases, and pH scale kit helps students determine the differences between acid and base properties, the role of hydrogen and hydroxide ions in acids and bases, and the relationship of the pH scale to acid and base strength. The kits activities cover examining the effects of acids and bases on several chemical pH indicators, identifying the pH of common household materials, and determining the composition of four unknown clear solutions. For hands-on learning, the kit has materials for 15 groups of students, including deionized water, dilute acid, base, litmus, methyl red, bromothymol blue, phenolphthalein, vinegar, household ammonia, soap, filtered water, vitamin C solution, pH test strips, unknown solutions, and reaction trays. The kit has a teachers manual and student study guide copymasters for instructional use, and a material safety data sheet (MSDS) packet for product information and handling procedures. The kit is suitable for age 13 and older with adult supervision, and meets the requirements for Department of Transportation (DOT) small quantity exemption 173.4, and conforms to 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 173.4 for domestic highway or rail transport only.Science education products incorporate applied math and science principles into classroom and homeschool-based projects.
