    Summary of the Book

In Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World, anthropologist Jack Weatherford presents his readers with the true history of Genghis Khan. The author provides a different perspective on Genghis Khan than has been typical in most Western accounts. He attributes positive cultural effects to his rule. The Mongol Army led my Genghis Khan conquered and vanquished more lands in twenty five years than the Romans did in four centuries. They brought an extraordinary rise in cultural communication, expanded trade, and a blossoming of civilization in every country they conquered. Genghis Khan was believed to be more progressive than his European or Asian counterparts. He put an end to torture, granted universal religious freedom, and smashed feudal systems of aristocratic privilege. The book traces his story from his rise through the tribal culture to the explosion of civilization that the Mongol Empire unleashed. By far the Greatest Conqueror

Genghis Khan outranks Alexander, Napoleon and others by a huge margins just in sheer expanse of the world he held under his sway. Add to that he was just a impoverished nomad from a desolate landscape i.e. Mongolia.
