Recommended for Civils

A good book covering all the topics for Geography in General Studies (Mains). Given the proposed changes in Mains, this book becomes a must have for all aspirants. Plus can be complemented with other good books on General Geography and world considering the anticipated pattern/syllabus change in mind.

Good for prelims, not recommended for Optional/mains

This book is enough for prelims as it has too much of info on every particular topic, like even the species of trees, including their scientific names, the quality of wood, the type of furniture and artifacts it makes, local names, region of growth, usage of its fibres, flowers, petals, oils, roots is given in detail. The same goes for rivers, lakes etc. You don't really need all this info for the mains or GS not even for the prelims( the factual questions are fast declining). Really Good Book

This is a fantastic book on Indian Geography. Prof. Hussain covers most topics in a very structured and systematic manner with lucid language. I feel obliged to study this book once I went through the first chapter. Lucky to have such a good book in the market. For general awareness and for knowledge freaks, it's a must have.

Must have as a base book!!

this is a good attempt in line with expectations of the UPSC, however the books needs some updation as far as data and tables are concerned. it is good for concepts, not very verbose and well written.

a handy substitute for those old NCERT books of the yester years....will recommend to any aspirant of the upsc or the state psc..

for world geography one needs to seriously look beyond majd though!!

Book was missing pages; but got product exchanged

Received the book promptly. However, opened it after few weeks & found several pages missing. I informed flipkart via email & without any further questions they said they would exchange it. I did not have to worry about sending it by courier to them. The book was picked up from my home without any hassle & I got a new book at my doorstep in 2 days. Love flipkart's service & hence I buy ALL my books & games from here!
