The book is an attempt to study the refugee migrations and their implications in regional and international politics in the context of the Chakma and Tibetan refugees. The author analyses and examines the nature of causes of emergence of refugee problems and examines the volume, direction and spatial location of refugees, and the nature of ethnic conflicts arising out of and causing political instability in South Asia, with special reference to India, China and Bangladesh in the context of the Tibetans and the Chakmas. The author proposes a Strategy for Conflicts Management and Peaceful Solutions of Tibetans and Chakmas problems.

DR. LALTANLIEN KHOBUNG finished his graduation with Honours in Geography at Union Christian College, North Eastern Hills University (NEHU), Shillong, Meghalaya in 1991. He completed Master of Arts (M.A) from Center for the Study of Regional Development (CSRD), School of Social Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi in 1993. He earned Master of Philosophy (M. Phil) degree in 1995 and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in 2000 from Center for International Politics, Organisation and Disarmament (CIPOD), School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. Dr. Laltanlien Khobung started his career as a grass-root community development worker, received various trainings in Programme Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation in India and abroad. He served in World Vision India for 20 years, and posted in different parts of North Eastern States of India. He is now serving as the Vice Principal in Bethany Christian College, permanently Affiliated to Manipur University and UCC Affiliated under 2(F) & 12(B) of the UCC Act 1956.
