At this price, it is one of the most versatile machete in the market. The build quality is excellent, and is backed by the Gerber warranty. I have seen Gerber products in US, but its great to have them in India finally and offering such a vast selection.

The Gator Jr is ideal for camping out when you need to clear shrubs and wines. Though its not meant for thicker branches, Gerber has other Machetes which are mean for hard wood.

A definite must have for an outdoor enthusiast!!

The product is okay for small work...but not good for real hiking or any little heavy duty work. .. handle may break..... also with respect to length weight is less.....hence.weight to hitting power ratio is not satisfactory ...if anyone really like to buy a machete for hiking then go for full tang one.... not this one.

But blade is 2mm thin and not for serious chopping or for heavy duty works
I just tapped my stainless steel kitchen knife on sharp edge and gerber got 1mm deep dent
I don't think this is made up of high carbon steel
If you want heavy duty gerber then buy Gerber Golok machete it's beautiful and heavy duty and thickest gerber machete available in India
But you could save money if you go to local blacksmith, give them your machete design on paper and they will make for you f...

Only issue is that it will start rusting if your blade comes in contact with water .
The blade and the grip are made for heavy duty stuff .
Tested well in all conditions and all types of woods
Saw is also a decent one .

The product is good,but expectation not upto the mark,no sharpness in the knife,the product clearly mention Made in China.

Genuine product. Good for light use. Please oil it regularly to avoid any rusting.
