Summary of the Book

Mani’s granny is seventy years old and can hardly see through her scratched, old pair of glasses. They both decide to go out and buy a new pair of glasses, with only a hundred and fifty rupees in their pockets! But buying glasses turns out to be an adventure, when they get soaked in heavy rain, witness a disheartening landslide and run into mules! Will they ultimately end up getting a new pair of glasses?

About Ruskin Bond

Ruskin Bond was born Himachal Pradesh, India. He is the recipient of the most honorary Indian awards like the Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and Sahitya Akademi Award among other honours. His contribution to children’s literature in India is specially recognized by the Indian Council for Child Education. His autobiography is Rain in the Mountains. Scenes from a Writer’s Life also talks about the young Ruskin. Some of his books are adapted as films and TV series, which have won awards.
