This is a brilliant book by a brilliant man. It reveals not just his intelligence but also the upbringing of Indira Priyadarshani, Indira Gandhi. This is what our politicians should be like. Something all kids should read growing up.

fantastic book by Pt. Nehru......compact ancient world history..but modern world history in vast detail......not mere factual story but great analysis and still much left for reader's thinking....didn't try to impose his ideas but has given a new outlook to world history.....although a very big book bt very much interesting....and not to say, in very easy language

The book contains amazing information. The language is clear and simple. The dates are not accurate because Nehru wrote this book in jail where he had no library or source to review his notes. It is actually collection of letters written by him to Indira Gandhi. I appreciate his work.

I am not that educated to write a review on the writings of Nehru Ji.
Nehru ji is one of the most learned person in the world. It's only a Glimpse of that we see in the book.
Only one suggestion to the publisher. If you could please add Prints or photographs of the Original letters then it will be a great thing. If you can't add all the letters, then in that case a handful of them will also suffice. Thanks.

Gives us an insight into the many facades of world history from a beginners point of view. Written in a very simple language (moreover cause it was meant to be read by a 13 year old girl) it also gives the reader an in-depth feel of what it was in those times when our great freedom fighters were fighting the final war of Indian independence. This book is a masterpiece, to say the least. It not only makes you awe at the genius of Nehru but also expands your vision of the world. It takes you all around the world and makes sure you understand every trivial event that shaped the modern world. The sheer size of the book intimidates one, but if you are really willing to devote your time to this worthwhile book, there is no doubt that after you finish reading the last page of it you'd feel a little hollow hoping the book could go on and...
