King Oyster mushrooms are considered as among the meatiest and tastiest mushrooms which can be grown at home using growing kits. These mushrooms have a shelf life from 7-10 days after harvest if refrigerated. This Kit contains sterilized substrate inoculated with Eryngi fungi in controlled lab conditions. These are then packed in filter patch grow bags and filled with sterilized air. After inoculation, it takes around 30 days for spawn run inside the bag during which the mycelium (vegetative body of mushrooms) completely covers the substrate and turns the bag completely white. After completion of spawn run period, the bag is opened from the top and a moist casing layer is placed at the top of the bag. The mycelium senses high humidity and fresh air at the top and starts fruiting King Oyster mushrooms from the top. During the fruiting period, it is ensured that the casing is always kept moist. Mushrooms grow in flushes (1-3 times) at an interval of 10 days based on the growing conditions.
