This textbook and the lessons covered were designed from the material taken from Musicians Institute’s main curriculum programs. The Musicians Institute is a renowned music instruction school located in California. Their curriculum addresses the core concepts of guitar-playing for a whole range of playing abilities, on both acoustic and electric guitars. Users are not required to know how to read music. Instead, the book will teach users how to build chords and scales and unleash one’s musical creativity.
This workbook contains 22 important chapters covered in eighty pages of material. It covers teaching areas such as Diagrams and Strings, The Five Root Shapes, Whole and Half Steps, Note Names, Finding Notes, Five Major Scale Patterns, Natural Minor Scales, Pentatonic Scales, Compound Intervals, Triad Arpeggios, Seventh Chords, and Triads. About Barrett Tagliarino
Barrett Tagliarino is an author, guitar instructor, and musician from Kentucky. He has authored numerous instructional workbooks. Some of these titles are Rhythmic Lead Guitar, Chord Tone Soloing, Music Theory: A Practical Guide For All Musicians, and Guitar Reading Workbook.
Tagliarino was drawn to the charm of the guitar at the early age of 9. After completing his University education at Indiana University, he moved to Los Angeles in the early 1980s. In his long career, he has played on every reputable stage in Los Angeles starting from the Viper Room to the Whiskey-Go-Go-Go. At one time he was the Department Head at Hohner Musikschule in Vienna, Austria. Tagliarino has also released two music CDs called Moe's Art and Throttle Twister. Since 1989, he has continued to work as a music instructor at the Musicians Institute, located in Hollywood, California.
