    Description

Gung Ho! is a management book that explores sure shot ways to boost productivity in any corporation by focusing on one’s employees.

    Summary Of The Book

With Gung Ho! Ken Blanchard has come up with a masterpiece in the management series books. He emphasizes on the importance of the biggest asset of any organization, which is its employees. He highlights the fact that to increase the productivity of any organization, it is a must to boost employee enthusiasm and performance.

Blanchard highlights a simple system to inspire employees of any organization. The text teaches a propaganda that is based on three basic principles to foster excellent morale in the workplace.

The first principle discussed in Gung Ho! is that work must be given the first priority. This message has to be communicated to each employee that his/her contribution is important. Making people feel that their work is important increases self-esteem and thus motivates the workforce.
The second principle explored in this book is that the organization should put each employee in control of their production. For this, it is essential that the management ensures to inform each employee about their individual responsibilities. Also, a team manager plays a crucial role as he has to listen to each team member and allocate work according to their capabilities.

Finally, the third principle to motivate people at workplace is to value the act of appreciation. Gung Ho! highlights the importance of managers cheering their workers. When the organization congratulates people on their work and efforts, not only the individual but all others working in the company get motivated.

Gung ho is for everyone looking for excellence!

The book is excellent for those who are looking for their own excellence. Comes in a story format and handy to carry along anywhere you go. it took me about a week to read through and the small yet powerful trans-formative approach of building a team, a product, a culture itself is mind blowing. This book is presented as a lived phenomenon and takes the reader along all the experiences in true sense of shaping the mindset towards work, towards life.
