HCL ME G1 Tablet - Good but not Great !!!

I didn't purchased this tablet from Flipkart, rather purchased the same from Stepples store on 10th Feb 2013 at Rs 14999/-
Initially, it looked great in terms of its technical specifications which comes within a budget of 15K. But later I explored the below while using the tab -
1) Touch sensitivity is very good
2) Brightness and contrast is good too
3) Google Play doesn't work here. I followed some video on youtube and installed google play here but even after that google play is not opening...

Bought it from W S Retail on FLIPKART. Flipkart rocks as always..International quality at our doorstep.Super tab and great battery life but does not support G Play Store...if you re ok with that you can find great apps in the Me App Store...My tab was upgraded with a 8000 mAH battery and Jelly bean. Wonderfully tab for right price

HCL has a great brand value in budget segment. The lack of google play might set many of them aback but those who want to use it for media consumption and for educational purpose its the best performer.
I checked the HCL website and found its upgradeable to 4.1 jelly bean. Its also future proof since its has 4G. AuTuTu score is 12,546 and quadrand 4452 while nenamark is 52Fps. Its processor is overlocked at 1.6Ghz.
It looks are best and and gives a premium feel. I have not yet bought it but...

Awesome Tab!

The Hcl ME G1 is the best tab under 15000. Android 4.0.4 (Ice-Cream Sandwich), a big 9.7 inch capactive touchscreen with 1024 x 768 pixels, a 2 megapixel primary camera (quite good) and a 0.3 megapixel secondary camera (ok types) with the preloaded Thinkfree Office Suite and an App Store makes it the best tablet under 15000 in its categeory. The display is great, it comes with 1.2 Ghz ARM A-9 Dual Core Processor and lots more. However there are a few cons of it too:

1. NO GOOGLE PLAY STORE!!...

Value for Money - only for novice users

Purchased this for my uncle who wanted it for
1. Mobility
2. Presentations

The below review is based on my technical knowledge and uncle's novice usage.

Pros:
Wifi, Screensize, Space, 3G/4G, Battery Life, Value for money
Cons:
Touch sensitivity is bad.
No support for the awesome world of Android Apps. HCL has very less free apps.
UI is not upto the mark

Since my uncle's primary requirement was presentations and mobility - he is pretty much happy with it.

Best Choice in the 10 inch category

This tablet is VFM. The speed, the application, the ease of operations and the HCL brand name make this a super tablet.

The major cons are -

1) Unavailability of general accessories like scratch guard, case, compatible keyboard etc. I wonder why HCL did not offer these at additional cost.
2) The on/off button is at the back rather than being on the side.
3) The speaker volume is quite low.
4) Camera resolution is average (but this may not be important).

Review

I have purchased it one month before. Till date it is working properly. Very Good Budget Tablet.

Advantage:- Slim, Very Good Touch Screen and well configured

Disadvantage:- No Sim Facility, Only one mini USB port, Some time dongles automatically disconnected.

Good Morning .. Wake Up HCl... Its 2014 and you still giving option of 3G with Dongle.
A superb tab but not going buy only because it dose not support SIM for net acces or calling facility...

tablet must watch

Awwsome tablet to buy.here r some feedback of a month usage
Pros:
1.very very smooth to use and play dual core nd quad core gpu shows its presence
2.screen is nice watch but not to die for few more pixels....
3. Battery life is good it gives me around 7hrs of continuous usage with 1080p movie (no lags), games and endless browsing with music in headphones.
4.price is competitive after disappointment from nexus 7 in india
5.brand value better than penta,micromax,wammy,iball etc

I have ordered this tablet from elsewhere but would like to write a review here as i want people to know what a wonderful product this is. Yes i can understand that there are a few applications like Google Play Store and Google Chrome that do now work on this tablet and its stupid but other than that its an amazing tablet.
