First off all you must know HTML before you attempt to read this book, else you'll be all at sea. Secondly, you should approach this with an open mind and a light heart, you'll notice that you would've learnt more than what you are supposed to by the end of the day.

Learning has been a pleasurable experience as it has a been less stressful than traditional monotony. This is not a reference book, as the authors have clearly mentioned.

Amazing book...

A great book to learn PHP and MySQL. You will be glued to it its that interesting. Their practical approach by using examples to teach us and a conversational type approach is great theres plenty of security tips too..If u know a bit of HTML and CSS I'm sure after u finish this book u can get a great site up and running... Great for beginners and experienced coders who want to try a hand at PHP and MySQL.

Just As Good as other HF Series

Just like other books in HF series, this is a classic.

For people who want to learn Web Development, I would recommend this as the second book after HF HTML, CSS & XHTML. Starting with these two books saves a lot of research time. Have bought many books to realize that I should have just started with just these two!
