Very useful teachning technique

Flipkart delivered this book in real quick time and I have started reading it. The book is really good to understand the principles of project management as the teaching style of the authors is excellent. I often look for such a teaching style while learning different subjects but fail to find books / courses that offer this. I am not sure yet how good a guide to the certification this is but I feel that the test should not be very difficult if one understands the core of what is being tested...

Beats PMBOK for sure!

For anyone who has had to delay studying for the PMP exam time and again due to the sheer misery that the PMBOK seeks to put you through, this is a god-send! The method might seem childish, but, you have to admit that it makes studying a whole lot easier and keeps you focused! The only thing I would recommend is using a book like Rita Mulcahy on the side for practice tests/questions and also, looking for tough online tests. I don't think HeadFirst does a good job with those.

Now, a lot of pe...

Head First is great to fill in those gaps !!!

Found the book a breeze so far in comparison to PMBOK guide which i went through first.

Where it really helps is the easy explanation process and the manner the author relates every process to day to day activities. This makes it a lot simpler as the PMBOK sometimes puts things very bluntly the way they are, which may not always be easy to understand.

I'd say this book is a must read to clear concepts but go through the PMBOK well before starting this one and use this as the finishing touc...

Very good reference book for pmp aspirants

I would say a very good book... Brilliant for pmp aspirants . I used this along with pmbok guide and cleared my exams with flying colors. Other thing I did was to go through a lot of practise questions between my exams and after pmbok guide. That helped me too... You should now look for the head first guide based on new pmp exam pattern . Ie pmbok guide 5th edition

Very Good Book

This book is a very good guide for senior team leads and project managers. This gives a very good insight to project management basics with PMP model.

Pros:
1. Pictorial representation of concepts
2. Story based approach.

Cons: could not find anything apart from the fact that some people might not find this book a proper one at management level because of the above mentioned approach.

Delivery by Flipkart was on time and accurate.

Mandatory if you are sitting for the PMI based PMP exam.

While I say mandatory, I mean it for your own good. If you are preparing for the exam you are probably reading heavy books like pmbok and Rita mulcahy. The head first will ease your prep a great deal, it has a lot of working solutions, puzzles etc, that are fun to do yet help you learn stuff the practical way.
Have some fun while you prepare for PmP. Get the Head First!

Completed 4 chapters and it's been fun. Look forward to the remaining chapters and then the PMBOK. Hopefully these with the test chapters + online tests will do the justice and help me get through the PMP exam :) "
