After the phenomenal success of Autograph and Baishe Srabon, Shree Venkatesh Films teams up yet again with Srijit Mukherji to create Hemlock Society - an once-in-a-lifetime film about life, death and love.
The protagonist, Meghna (Koel Mullick), realises the futility of her life when she finds her fiancé lip-locked with another woman at a pub, and decides to end her life. Still trying to come to terms with her mother’s death and her father’s (Dipankar Dey) remarriage, Meghna tries hard to commit suicide, failing each time. As a God-sent angel, Ananda (Parambrata Chatterjee) comes to her life and offers to coach her on the art of committing suicide. Claiming to run an organisation called Hemlock Society, which teaches people the art of ending life, Ananda completely changes Meghna’s life.
Like Srijit’s other films, Hemlock Society too boasts of timeless music. Anupam Roy delivers some chartbusters that will last for a long time in the public memory. The romantic drama has already broken all box office records in Bengal; let it now grace your movie-collection.
