Sharell, a woman who has been living a beautiful life until now, is unable to cope with her recently failed marriage and her sad life. So, she decides to travel to India to do volunteer work and, hopefully, find some peace.

    Summary of the Book

We do many things to escape our horrible lives. Some of us think that leaving the country we are living in will help us forget and move on. This is exactly what Sharell Cook thought and did. She had the perfect life and the best husband. She was lucky enough to have married her childhood sweetheart, and they had plenty of money. Sharell and her husband lived in Melbourne’s most posh suburbs. However, all this goodness did not last. When her marriage failed, everything else came crashing down. She decided to go for a complete change and moved to India as a volunteer. Will she find happiness again?

She writes wonderfully and makes you feel like you are were with her.

The long long wait for this book was made worth it when I read it in less than 3 hours.

    A must read

I knew Sharell from her blog, and I was eagerly waiting for her book, this one didn't disappoint one bit.

As an expat who moved across the world for love I can relate to a lot of things she writes about in her book.
This is the story of a lesser known breed of firangi int he country, those who are here to stay making a new life in India. My kind isn't into ashrams, and a quick cultural fix. We aren't there on a short term business assignment either, we don't have the over inflated expat li...

Henna for the broken hearted by Sharell cook, reminds me of the Bollywood song “Thodasa Pani, Thodasa badal, ho kahani” that is a bit of clouds, a bit of rain and a tale is spun.
My apologies to the author, when the books started I assumed another firangi on th...
