A good toy to play with!!!!!!
drains a lot of battery.so buying batteries would be expensive. It is a good alternative to RC cars, helicopters etc... Overall it is a good toy. If you think this is too expensive,you can try the hexbug inchworm too.

An amazing stress buster
It's an amazing desk toy for people of all age groups. The Hexbug spider fits on your palm and the remote too is very small and convenient to use.
The movement is pretty amazing and quick. It makes a lot of noise when it moves. The rotating head with a tiny LED is really amazing. Looks like one of those terminator machines.
The only drawback is that it looks really fragile. If you drop it, you break it. Else, its...

Sexy Geeky
The range of the remote control is kinda low. To save the battery or something, the bug stops working after a while of inactivity. you have to reset the switch to make it work again. Can't walk on carpet, but walks sexyly on any smooth surface.

Awesome little robot

Semi-autonomous robots are fine, but this remote controlled spider is TOO MUCH FUN!

Only novelty value
Now for the Hexbug-
1. Movement is great. Head moves separately and thus direction changes quickly and very smoothly.
2. Range is poor - 3 - 4 feet
3. It does not clamber on any object except may be couple of stacked papers. Not even a thin book.
4. Novelty value wears of really quickly.
5. Its frustrating when it doesn't do much besides moving 3 feet in great fluid movement.
6. Rather buy a toy vehicle that climbs ...
