    Summary of the Book

    This collection presents some of the finest literary pieces written by Khushwant Singh. It contains essays, stories, extracts, and poems written by him. The book is divided into fifteen sections, which deal with different themes and subjects like family matters, the Sikhs, India, religion, sex, and love among others. The book was chiefly published as a tribute to Khushwant Singh by his family on his ninety-ninth birthday. It also includes a rare collection of his photographs.

    About Khushwant Singh

    Khushwant Singh was an Indian writer, advocate, politician and journalist. A Padma Vibhushan awardee, Mr. Singh is best remembered for his humour, love of poetry and his vigorous treatment of secularism in his writings, most evident in: The Company of Women, Truth, Love and a Little Malice, With Malice towards One and All, The Mark of Vishnu and Other Stories and Delhi: A Novel. A graduate of Government College, Lahore, St. Stephen's College in Delhi and King's College London, he read for the Bar at the Inner Temple and served as a practising lawyer before entering journalism. He had worked with The Illustrated Weekly, The National Herald and Hindustan Times. A prolific writer, Mr. Singh wrote till the grand old age of 99, releasing his last work The Good, The Bad and The Ridiculous a few months before his passing in March 2014.

    • Born in Punjabs Hadali village (now in Pakistan) in 1915, Khushwant Singh was among Indias best-known and most widely read authors and journalists. He was founder-editor of Yojana and editor of The Illustrated Weekly of India, National Herald and the Hindustan Times. He published six novels Train to Pakistan, I Shall Not Hear the Nightingale, Delhi, The Company of Women, Burial at Sea and The Sunset Club as well as several books of short stories which were published together as The Portrait of a Lady. His other books are the two-volume A History of the Sikhs, an autobiography, Truth, Love and a Little Malice, a biography, Ranjit Singh - Maharaja of Punjab and a book of non-fiction, The Return of Indira Gandhi. In addition, he published translations of Hindi and Urdu novels, short stories and poetry, notably Umrao Jan Adaby Mirza Hadi Ruswa, Rajinder Singh Bedis I Take This Woman and Iqbals Shikwaand Jawab-e-Shikwa. Enterprising publishers also put out dozens of anthologies of his journalism, columns and jokes - at one time there were nearly one hundred of these in print.

      Khushwant Singh was a member of the Rajya Sabha from 1980 to 1986. He was awarded the Padma Bhushan in 1974, he returned the award in 1984 to protest the siege of the Golden Temple by the Indian Army. In 2007, he was awarded Indias second highest civilian Honor, the Padma Vibhushan.

    अच्छा संग्रह

    उपन्यास , लघु कथाओं , अनुवादित कार्यों , कविता आदि का बहुत अच्छा संग्रह । , खुशवंत सिंह का । लेखन - अप को सावधानी से चुना गया है । हालांकि उनकी बढ़िया पुस्तकों के कुछ अध्याय जैसे - पाकिस्तान , दिल्ली को ट्रेन , मैं फिर से आदित्र नहीं देख सका । , लेखन का हर पीस कैप्टिवेटिव है । यह संग्रहकर्ता आइटम में से एक है !

    आप श्री सिंह याद कर रहे हैं !

    यह एक एंथोलॉजी है । जब उन्होंने कॉलम लिखे तो मैं युवा और बेरुखी था । इस एंथोलॉजी ने मुझे उसे जानने का मौका दिया और मैं सच में उसे अब के आसपास चाहता हूँ । उनकी गद्य , टिप्पणी , राजनीतिक स्थितियों और जीवन पर उनका टेक , यह सब इतना वास्तविक है - आप लगभग तुरंत कनेक्ट करते हैं । यह 99 अलग - अलग टुकड़े हैं और जब पुस्तक समाप्त हुई , तो मुझे दुख हुआ । इस तथ्य के लिए दुख हुआ कि उसके बाद कोई पुस्तक नहीं लिख सकता है

    सबसे मनोरंजक और अभी तक तथ्यात्मक

    कोई लंबे समय तक बाहर निकाले गए अध्याय - प्रत्येक 2 - 3 पृष्ठ , अतिशयोक्ति । लेखक स्वीकार करता है अगर उनकी मान्यताएं गलत निकली हैं - यह एक बहुत ही मनोरंजक पुस्तक है । कुछ भी नहीं है कि बोर हो सकता है । प्लस के रूप में विभिन्न अध्यायों में शीर्षक हैं जो विषय के संकेत हैं , कोई भी ऐसे मामलों को छोड़ सकता है जो पाठक के लिए कोई रुचि नहीं हैं । यह अवश्य पढ़ें और शुरू करें - और बस नए धर्म का सम्मान करें ।

    बहुत अच्छी किताब

    बढ़िया पुस्तक। संग्रह वास्तव में खुशवंत सिंह के सबसे अच्छा का प्रतिनिधि है। . पुस्तक समय पर वितरित की गई थी। यह अच्छी तरह से पैक किया गया था और अच्छी स्थिति में था जब मुझे यह प्राप्त हुआ। फ्लिपकार्ट पर कीमत पुस्तक दुकानों में उपलब्ध की तुलना में बहुत कम था।
