Summary of the Book

American gangsters, cowboys, Indians and The Big Apple are waiting for young Tintin to bump into them as he travels from the Atlantic to America. Though he is faced with great danger, he manages to come out of it with the help of his loyal canine friend, Snowy. On his visit to Egypt, he comes across a very mysterious pharaoh, and has trouble while hunting for an Egyptologist. In India, he meets some friendly elephants and escapes in becoming a victim to madness when he visits the Blue Lotus in India where there is a mystery involving a poison that induces madness. He soon finds out that the poison is actually coming in from China. He also manages to save a Maharaja from a dangerous tiger.

About Herge

Herge is the pen name of a Belgian cartoonist. He is known for his work in 23 completed comic books in The Adventures of Tintin series. His works were carried out in his distinct 'ligne claire' style. He is also responsible for two other popular series: Quick and Flupke and Jo, Zette and Jocko.
