Summary of the Book

This title vividly portrays his experiences of war, including the time when he was shot in both the helmet and back and had to witness the death of his two best friends. After his combat deployments, Kyle became the chief sniper instructor. He wrote the book on being a sniper - The Naval Special Warfare Sniper Doctrine, which happens to be the first Navy SEAL sniper manual. Today, Kyle is the CEO of an international security and training corporation. American Sniper, along with chronicling his accomplishments as a sniper, talks about how nice a husband and father he is - a man’s rise from being a Texas rodeo cowboy to his country’s most legendary sniper.

SEAL Team 3 Chief Chris Kyle had served four combat tours in Operation Iraqi Freedom and elsewhere. For his indomitable courage, he was honoured with two Silver Stars, five Bronze Stars with Valor, two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals and one Navy and Marine Corps Commendation. Also, he had been honoured with the Grateful Nation Award, given by the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs. Kyle was shot and killed at a shooting range near Texas, with his friend, Chad Littlefield.
