Summary of the Book

In this book, Doreen Virtue speaks about how to speak up, especially when it's against one's nature to do so. Good natured people are often soft-spoken and they get stepped on all the time. In this book, she teaches readers that assertiveness isn't a sin, and that it needs to be exercised if we're to get the point across. Saying no when we are not interested or otherwise occupied is also not wrong, and she explains how soft-spoken people can work towards laying boundaries which others see and respect. She explains how we can still maintain inner peace by speaking up in relationships. Avoiding conflicts isn't helping anyone, managing them is better and this is how one should go about doing exactly that.

Doreen Virtue is an American writer, New Age therapist and the founder of Angel Therapy. Born into a Christian family, she professes to being a clairvoyant.

A graduate of Chapman University in Orange, California, she obtained her Ph.D. in Psychology from California State University.
