Chikoo (Manilkara zapota), commonly known as sapodilla, sapote, naseberry, nispero or chicle, is a long-lived, evergreen tree. Sapota is a delicious tropical fruit that belongs to the Sapotaceae family that goes with the scientific name Manilkara zapota. It is commonly known as Chiku and it is mainly cultivated in India. It is a tropical crop, It can be grown in all types of soils. Sapota can be propagated by approach grafting.
