Summary of the Book

Ajatashatru, the fakir, is a well-known trickster and conjurer whose mission is to reach Paris and find a new bed of nails. He also needs to reach IKEA urgently. He needs to stay there and find a wardrobe in which he can rest his head. He finds one and goes into a deep slumber. However, when he wakes up, he find that the wardrobe has been locked and he in unable to get out. He soon heads for England in a truck and goes on a bizarre adventure. He meets the cab driver that he had conned when he arrived and who seeks revenge, and falls in love with Marie Rivire, a beautiful Parisian. He even travels in a suitcase to Italy and writes a novel about a shirt.

Romain Puertolas was born in Montpellier and wrote the book The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea Wardrobe. He worked on the novel on his mobile phone when he was working as a French border guard.
