Summary of the Book

When he was five years old, Saroo Brierley becomes separated from his brother. He travels alone on a train, finding his way to Calcutta. He lands in an orphanage, and he is eventually adopted by an Australian couple who take him to his new home in Hobart, Tasmania. His life is changed forever, and he finds love in his new home, and a future bright and prosperous. However, Saroo constantly desired to find his birth parents and his family once again. However, he barely remembered the place he once called home. Like a miracle, he found it through Google Earth, and twenty five years after his original separation, he undertakes the journey back home, to find a ramshackle house he remembers like it was out of a dream. He remembers barely walking the last time he was here. Saroo Brierley’s journey has taken him halfway across the Earth, but it has at last brought him home.
