Micro irrigation system is a new irrigation system through which farmers / gardeners can irrigate their gardens. By this method, water is provided to the plants drop by drop in a balanced manner according to their requirement. The Government of India started the program during the eighth five-year plan under the aegis of the National Committee on the Use of Plastic in Horticulture, a centrally funded scheme to promote drip irrigation. In order to popularize the micro irrigation system in various regions under the development of horticulture, a centrally sponsored scheme micro irrigation system was implemented by the Central Government.
