Mr. Prem Narain was born and brought up in Banda, a district of Uttar Pradesh in Bundelkhand region. Mr. Narain pursued his higher education from Allahabad University. Greatly influenced by poetry writing of two of his elder sisters, he developed a taste for poetry writing in his student life. His passion for poetry got relegated to the background in the wake of pressing professional concerns after joining the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) in 1978.
