Smrutichitre is very importan book in marathi litreture. It is not only autobiography of Laxamibai Tilak but also social history of1860 to 1920. LaxmiBai Tilak's Smruti chitre written originally in marathi and later transleded in English by Josephine. Laxmi Bai Tilak has given message to women of the country how to find their own identity, Smruti chitre is presented as a one woman show.
