Along with this, it also analyzes the ancient Indian cultural, social, political, and geographical conditions. Panini was born in Shalatur village. Shalatur is an abbreviation of the word Salatur Lahur or Lahore. Some historians believe that Lahore village near Atak was Shalatur, now in Pakistan. It is absolutely true that Panini's mother's name was Dakshi and Panini's father's name was Shalanki (Shalanku). Panini's younger brother was named Pingala. He is believed to be the same Pingalacharya who composed the Pingalashastra (Chhanda Shastra). Panini's teacher was named Varsha or Upavarshopadhyaya.
