Bad Book

Do not read this book if you really want to learn mathematics. This book is nothing more that 'manipulation using formulas'. Learn mathematics from better books like Advanced Engineering Mathematics by Kreyszig or Advanced Engineering mathematics by jain and Iyengar. The extra time you spend when you read these books will be a boon to you when you go for higher studies.

Good Book for Practice and Exams.

This book is excellent if you need enough problems to score well in Engineering exams. It has a large number of problems from different universities.

However, if you really want to understand the concepts well, I would suggest looking at books which handle that particular topic in math separately. For example, if you are interested in Matrices and Determinants, study a book on Linear Algebra.

This is a good book that has everything in one place and I'll give it a 4/5 for that. One more star...

Brilliant

Bought this book for engineering course. Helped me in 4 semesters. Lots of examples. A good reference book as well. The appendix part is well designed.

Pathetic book by all standered

If you really like math please dont even consider looking at it.

This book is one of the worst you can find around. No explanation whatsoever just examples. You will be clueless. Yes you will clear your 1st / 2nd year engineering exams with it, but if you think about knowledge , no way. Better to read Kreyszig any day.

Excellent book for 'Dummies'

It is not a book of mathematics, not a touch of rigor anywhere.. contains many useful results with appropriate examples. Suitable for laypeople 'studying' physics. My suggestion (who cares) learn math from math texts not from handbooks like it.

* This review is not applicable for engineers (for whom the book is written primarily).

** Two reasons for giving 2 stars i) 0 star is not allowed ii) I'm not an engineer..!
