The History of Ancient India is an extraordinary account of 30 centuries of human culture and advancement. Every chapter in this work is devoted to subjects that have been extensively researched, and diverse viewpoints have been recorded. The entire work is divided into five parts: the Vedic Period, spanning B.C. 2000 to 1400; the Epic Period, ranging from B.C. 1400 to 1000; the Rationalistic Period, from B.C. 1000 to 242; the Buddhist Period, from B.C. 242 to A.D. 500; and finally, the Puranic Period, spanning A.D. 500 to 1194.
