About the Author
Dr. Manjusri Dhall joined the Orissa Education Service in 1975 and continued teaching History in different colleges of Orissa. she retired as Senior Reader in History from Rajdhani College, Bhubaneawar in 2011. She passed B.A. (Hons) in History from Ravenshaw College, Cuttack and completed her post-graduate in History from Utkal University in 1974, Bagging the gold medal for the year. She has also got a Diploma in Russian Language from Utkal University. She was one of the earliest Orissa Lady to get into Civil Services in 1977. Due to ill-health, she decided to continue in her Lecturer post.
Dr. Dhall was awarded teachers Fellowship by the U.G.C to pursue research activity. She was sent by the U.G.E to collect relevant source material for her research work from India Office Library and School of Oriental and African Studies, London. She was awarded Ph.D degree in 1995 by the Utkal University for her work The British Rule- Missionary Activities in Orissa (1822-1947). In the year 2006 she was awarded Post-Doctorial Research Fellowship by the pursuing research for a period of four years. Dr. Dhall is a life member of the India History Congress and a permanent member of the Orissa History Congress.
