I had been getting reviews that this account of WWII has been trail blazing since its first publication. The little I managed to browse; left the same impression in me as well. Unfortunately there is huge difference in price in case of it's imported edition when compared against it's domestic one. This kind of pricing tend to underplay the actual worth of any good book. Concise and well written
A pretty much thorough and unbiased account.However,one must admit that Wiliam L Shirer has done a much more comprehensive effort in 'The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich' spanning about 1400 pages. But if both these books are taken as complementary ( and ignore the overlappings) then any serious student of history need not read anything else as far as WW II is concerned.

Passing thro that era
At more than 900 pages, the book is voluminous but is worth reading for those who wish to pass through those times of the world. Reading such books help put the present day incidents in perspective & prepare for future. Wars seldom happen suddenly but still take most by surprise as they haven't paid attention to history.

wonderful analysis
I am still not finished , but it is a classic.The history every body should read to get rid of many biased writings about 2nd world war.Great analysis of the role played by each stake holder.Fascinating use of the details of the research.Writing style is of high literary standard.Worth reading.

military history: great, history of human suffering: zero
A great historical account of the military strategies and battles. But there is no mention of the hardship human beings (even soldiers) endured during the period! An excellently readable book though. The book is slightly more focused toward the Anglo-American war efforts than the Russo-German conflict.indispensable for WW II enthusiasts.
