Major Saras C Tripathi is a multifaceted personality interweaving an out of box thinker, an author, columnist, motivational speaker and a soldier; who believes in “Idam na mum, Idam Rashtray” (nothing for me, all for the nation) and Swayameva Mrigendrata (becoming the leader by self-prowess). Childhood memories, fueled by inspirations of 1971 war and uncompromising nationalist views within family, fascinated him to join the Army. Through CDSE (UPSC) he was commissioned into the 6 Maratha Light Infantry of the Indian Army on 07 Mar 1992 from OTA Chennai. He was first posted in Kashmir valley under “AFSPA 1990” to crush Pak sponsored terrorism. He served there for five years in two different stints; from 1992-1995 (CI Ops) and 1997-1999 (LOC at Uri). He voluntarily resigned from the Army in 1999; post Kargil war. Later, he served in various capacities/ varied roles including; as Human Resource Manager in Central PSU (1999-2007), Airport Manager at IGI airport New Delhi (2008-2018) and Commandant (2018-2020) of Raxa Academy (GMR Group). He prematurely resigned to dedicate himself to greater national causes. Born on 05 May 1966 at Prayagraj (UP), he graduated from University of Allahabad in English Literature, History and Philosophy, followed by MA (Philosophy); PGDHRM from Pondicherry University and Master’s in Journalism from Sagar University.
