    Description
In the middle of the catastrophic 2008 recession, Aditya, a jobless, penniless man meets an attractive stranger in a bar. Little does he know that his life will change forever.

When Radhika, a young, rich widow, marries off her stepdaughter, little does she know that the freedom she has yearned for is not exactly how she had envisioned it.

They say homing pigeons always come back to their mate, no matter where you leave them on the face of this earth. The Homing Pigeons is the story of love between these two unsuspecting characters as it is of lust, greed, separations, prejudices and crumbling spines.

Exceptional Narrative technique....unimaginable story, excellent writing

The book is about a couple that unites and departs at different phases of life. Each time due to their innocence, circumstances or something they havent done. A journey from the times when the scars of Hindu Sikh riots hadnt healed to the recession affecting lives this story is just unputdownable.

The USP of the book is the excellent writing technique when the characters go into flashback and return. The writer also had a lot of chance of going into mushy romance or pool of emotions as is th...

One of the better books in popular fiction genre...

I have a major bias against Indian writers thanks to the pop corn literature they dish out to so called readers. But with Sid Bahri's debut novel I stand corrected. His use of language and the way he has deftly handled the storyline was truly commendable! I was pleasantly surprised at the way the book progressed. I was glued to the book for about 3 hours until i finally finished it. This has been quite a read.

Do pick this book up because good writers needs to be encouraged! This has to be o...

The Pigeons indeed flying high !!!

"The Homing Pigeons",the name stands out different from other fiction novels being released across the country .One will think what genre does this book belongs too ? Well I too had the same question in my mind but being a fan of Dr. Tharoor's writing when I came to know that he has recommended it , I was not able to wait further and ordered the book.

As I have mentioned in my earlier reviews being a slow reader as always kudos to Sid that his flow of writing especially with immense simplici...

Entrapped in the quicksands of The Homing Pigeons

I term such books as quicksands because I will defy my all other needs to read them & such books comfort me..I want to read the books which appeal to all my senses & not scrotch them!
Unfortunately today many writers are selling their books thriving on publicity stunts, controversies, porn, corporate jokes & senseless humour, & jargon which fail to amuse us & hit us below the belly.
The Homing Pigeons, is a book which has re-established my faith in the ability of contemporary Indian Authors. ...

No stereotype, refreshing and a quick read.

The best this about The Homing Pigeons was that the author didn't try too hard to impress. Unlike most other debut authors, there was no usage of unnecassary profanity, or hindi words or anything filmy, just to make the book sell.

Sid Bahri seems to be here to write and share his tales and that is exactly what he has done in his debut book. The book is a no-nonsense, straight forward tale .... if you love to read, u will enjoy reading this. A tight, innovative .. the Homing Pigeons was a goo...

Gripping & Riveting. A good job done by a debut author who shows promise.

The Homing Pigeons is one of the most entertaining and gripping reads that I have read recently by a debut author. The narrative, the plot and the story all of them worked for me. Also, do explore the music of this book too, its soothing and very fresh.

This 300+ page book is a gripping tale of two people and how their lives intersect time and again.

The writing is simple and totally relatable.

Sid Bahri is an author to watchout for. I am already waiting for his next release.

    Remarkably exalting

This Story is about Aditya and Radhika, Written lucidly from both's POV, Both grown up in different towns, under different circumstances, now living completely different lives yet connected with a delicate but strong string of LOVE, Unbreakable by even the cruelest of times.
It was almost like the author took the challenge of firstly making readers almost dislike both protagonist then making the same readers feel empathetic towards them, then getting lost in their pains and sorrows and when t...

    Good Read.

I started out reading the book a bit doubtful as usually I dont read Indian authors as I find their books a drag.
I was pleasantly surprised and amazed. Could relate to many situations that the characters in the book faced.
