SATISFYING to the core! GO FOR IT!

( *Edited after actually buying the phone =D )

Tired of seeing reviews comparing HTC phones to other companies's devices solely based on the specification on its cover. HTC might not provide the greatest spec in the given price range, but the hands on user experience, that's an entirely different story!

Bought it few months back from a local retailer. Awesome phone indeed! The first thing you'd notice when you hold this phone is its weight. This has to be the LIGHTEST phone in its category....

The phone exudes 'Premium Quality' top to bottom

I saw this phone being sold in India sometime in last month and was under clear impression that HTC has gone insane with the pricing.

However when the day arrived when I had to purchase a phone for myself and had a budget of 20K only, I end up buying this one.

I purchased it outside Flipkart for 21,500. However recommend purchasing it from Fipkart since you could save more than 1K.

I walked in to a retail shop with following phones shortlisted:
1. Sony Xperia C
2. Samsung Galaxy Grand Du...

Overpriced! Decent phone but there are better options.

My review:

Pros:
1. Camera : 8MP camera is definitely one of the better ones in this range. The camera is better than Sony phones but not sure how it fares against Samsung ones.

2. Sense UI: This phone comes with the latest Sense 5 UI that is quite a joy to use.

3. Decent build quality and a stylish design.

4. Polaris Office app : Comes with a full version of the Office Suite app which lets you view and edit Office documents. Even some flagships don't come pre-installed with such an app(...

htc not learning any lesson??

this i a good item until i heard about its price, i was expecting price range of 15k - 17k, because sony xperia m and galaxy core have the same specs with price range of 13k. its well known that htc tend to priced their product a tad high than other company but 20k is not what i expect, at all. if price is reduced to around 16k, i will still choose over xperia m or galaxy core, but i am not gonna buy desire 500 for 20k, not worth the price. if you are ready to shell out 21k, then consider lum...

A great mobile with No updates and neglected by HTC. Heights of HTC's unprofessional style.

Been using this mobile for almost an year now and feeling cheated.

The mobile is too good as far as performance is concerned.
A breath taking camera, an above average battery life and super fast processor.

But even after releasing the mobile after mid of 2013, HTC has never taken an effort to provide a single OTA update to the handset. And now, news indicate that they are not going to bring KitKat update at all to Desire 500 when all other manufacturers are rolling 4.4 update to even their...

worth the cost

this is a super cool fone...
it is worth for the extra bucks than a samsung, lg or sony.
i wud definitely recommend tis mobile to youngsters.
the quality of the touch is too gud probably next to apple. the build & other qualities are far better than samsung, sony or likewise phones. especially the 8MP camera is best in-class camera (next to iphone). the back cover is glossy and a bit tough to remove. so it makes no problems wen the phone is dropped down frm a certain height.
if u r ready to ...

Nice Phone..

Its a very good phone and it never lags. I have been using it for nearly 4 months and works fine even with high end games like FIFA 14.. Good News from HTC is they are planning to give Kitkat 4.4 update for this phone by end of april.. If that comes this phone will be unbeatable..

very low internal memory. over priced - A BIG LOW PHONE

Could call this low phone with high price

- Low internal memory 4GB -> User would get around 1.9GB only
- Low GPU Adreno 203 -> it very basic graphics unit a big no for quality 3D games
- Low Resolution 800 x 480 resolution(WVGA) -> Now a days its going full HD
- Low 217 ppi -> Even tablets has more ppi than this phone. HTC kidding with us

Seems like it has Good camera and RAM. May be good Body Build

Amazing Value For Money!

At this price, the phone is a bargain. It runs quite smooth. The screen resolution may look poor on paper but it looks perfectly fine when held in your hand- not like you'll be staring at the pixels through a microscope. The speakers are loud & clear. Decent battery life. Looks good too! (got the red one for my mom). It feels like a premium device in your hand, the build quality (especially that red metallic line) is stunning for a 20.5k phone.

Only thing is that the 8MP camera doesn't have ...
