The HTC Desire HD is a full touch smartphone which has Android 2.2 (Froyo) as its operating system. The handset is powered by a 1 GHz processor and packs in 768 MB of RAM. The user interface used in the Desire HD is the proprietary HTC Sense. The special features that the UI brings to the phone are enabling checking of all emails in one common inbox, remote management of your phone, reading eBooks and others.

The HTC smartphone sports an 8 megapixel camera with auto focus and dual LED flash. The camera comes with HD video recording capability. Other features of the camera include face detection capability, geo-tagging, and built-in effects such as depth of field. The audio experience of the phone is enhanced by features such as Dolby Mobile and SRS virtual surround sound.

Design

The 4.3-inch touchscreen phone has WVGA display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution and pinch-to-zoom capability. The sensors incorporated in the mobile include, Accelerometer, Proximity sensor and Ambient light sensor.

Storage and Battery

The Desire HD ships with 1.5 GB of internal memory and is microSD 2.0 compatible. The memory of the phone can be extended up to 32 GB using a memory card. The smartphone uses a 1230 mAh Li-Ion standard battery that serves talk time of 9 hours in 2G network and 5 hours in 3G network.

Internet and Connectivity

Users can connect to Internet on this mobile through GPRS, EDGE, Wi-Fi and 3G. The connectivity options in the phone include Bluetooth, USB and 3.5 mm stereo audio jack. The Desire HD also comes with an A-GPS antenna and is capable of USB and Wi-Fi tethering. The HTC smartphone is DLNA compatible and comes with SNS integration. Additional features include FM radio, Digital compass, access to Google maps and Android Market.
