I would recommend to list down and prioritize your requirements first before choosing any product and secondly admit the fact that "Every product will be superseded by other(in technology and price), so you can't get the best product but you can make the product , the best of yours".

HTC - A perfect smartphone maker
So this is the first non-Nokia mobile phone in my family after 17 nokia mob in last 10 years.
I will directly go to main points of HTC Desire X and its comparison with Galaxy/Xperia of same price same.
1. Very handy,easy to use due to its 9mm thickness and teflon back-side for firm grip (samsung mob being bigger in width cannot be handled in single hand, hence fatigue of hands)

Good Product
Good Product but some time it's getting very hot while playing games, like subway and candy crush.Speed is far better than samsung, no hang problem so far inspire of my fast speed typing and switching between apps, supported by a high responding touch screen.

HTC did its splendid work for making this mobile. I am using this phone for past two months. i have seen these pros and cons in this phone.
Pros:-
1. the sleek design
2. the sim lot HSUA getting me the speed of 4.1 Mbps speed in my first slot and slot is normal speed.
3. the camera is also good for it.
4. the battery back up for this, i am using 24*7 GPRS in ON state in 3G mode. it is giving 10 Hrs back up and even after seeing the movie it is giving a back up of 8 Hrs.

Good Buy for the Money Spent
The Product is pretty good for a medium level user and worth every penny spent.
A decent speed, dual sim features are great. A phone perfect for the pocket and yet housing a powerful enough processor for medium level users.

I used this phone for 1 year. I purchased it because i liked it's display quality, stylish design and sound quality. I even recommended this to my friends also. I would like to say sorry to those friends. From the 5th month of purchase i am struggling with many critical issues.

Good one...with a reasonable rate!!!
I bought this product on june 2013 from flipkart and found it really good.The rate is also reasonable ,not very high and it works fine as well. I am still using it. Sometimes, rarely it does act abnormal but that is very rare.Very sleek and nice to use.Power back up is good if you do not use the internet very much or all the time.It will stay for the whole day, else you might have to charge a bit sooner. Overall it is a good buy.

Comparison with Sensation XE, my good old phone.
I was using Sensation XE previously. I can compare Desire X only with Sensation XE.
Pros:
Very much handy & light weight. Does not fall down from my shirt pocket when I bend downwards. Falling from pocket was a major problem with my old phone HTC Sensation XE.
Loud voice & good clarity.
Cons:
This is something you have to live with; but not a major problem.
Touch screen response is lesser than that of Sensation XE.
3G connectivity fails in some places as compared to Sensation XE. But this ...

Good mobile in this price range
Pros:1.Display and touch is awesome.
2.Camera is good with much brighter LED flash.
3.Audio is good.Specially with headphones
Cons:1.Getting heated while playing games even continuosly for 15 mins.
2.No HD playback for videos.
