Been using it for more than 4 months and it is indeed a very good product. Works well with windows. Linux driver outdated though. Works Neatly. NO drops. Gives very good speed.
On Reliance 3G(of course u can choose the network of ur liking) i get upto 500kbps and and on 2G I get 15-20kbps download speed.
You can even make or receive calls and can send receive or store messages. The device supports microSD card too (32GB) and yeah about the Soft WiFi i would say the matter is debatable, there...

I have searched for ways to make this modem work in Linux. I found little information regarding this on the internet and most of them are confusing. Here's a neat way to use this modem in Linux.

I use this modem in Fedora OS and here's what you need to do:

1. sudo yum install wvdial

2. edit the file /etc/wvdial.conf using any text editor

3. Type in the ISP's phone number, username and password.

4. Here's how my configuration file looks like:


[Dialer Defaults]
Init1 = ATZ
Init2 = ATQ0 V...

I just recieved this product an 2 hours ago and have been continously since then. i am using it with airtel 3g and it is giving great speed. easy to use and very simple mean to use internet at great speed... go for it guyz .
only problem is that if u want to use soft wifi u have to have window sp SP3 or greater. and i have SP2 and i am unable to use it. though i will update my pc sonn.
if u r thinking to buy a data card it is the best.

I purchase this modem 2 months ago and it is running good.
I m using a bsnl 3g sim and the performance is good.
After switching to 3g internet it feels a lot good.

Signal reception is good due to huawei technology .
Built quality is solid.
Indication lights are self explanatory

Cons
Soft wifi never works for me.
Tried it in xp as well as Windows 7
Mobile partner requires a lot of work.
It needs to be light and irrelevent features like cloud+ are only wasting ram.

At the starting point it is not installing in windows 8.1 - hence by help of customer care of huawei a additional software has been downloaded from official website of huawei.
Now working very fine ..............Speed was awesome in 3G and moderate in 2G

First of all Service is GOOD. The product is good but with some problems. it must upgrade its software so that it can open more faster in its initial start. The soft wifi feature is good for writing in the list of features but not at all useful. Nice auto redial and UI. Build quality is nice. Overall its good and recommended if you are not bothered by the problems i mentioned.

The only trouble I got with the device was to turn on the wifi hotspot.I tried various ways to turn it on but every time I got an error. Mostly it said "Failed to start Wifi Hotspot".So I had to install a third party software to start the wifi hotspot and now it works perfectly fine.
Overall satisfied with the product.

this dongle is working quite good.No Speed lags, No connectivity problemsyou can use any sim Just like and plug and play.no lags found till date, even call and sms functions work better but i recommend to use headset to avoid eco during call.
