Origin: Camu-Camu is a small bushy riverside tree native to the Amazon rainforest in Peru and Brazil. It is adaptable to both dry and wet environments and is also utilized for medicinal purposes.
Fruit Characteristics: The Camu-Camu fruit is small, typically measuring 2 to 3 centimeters in diameter, with a round, oval, or ovate shape. The skin starts green and matures to variegated red-green or dark red-purple, sometimes becoming maroon or purple-black when fully ripe. The flesh can vary from sweet to acidic and is soft, aqueous, and succulent, containing 1 to 4 brown seeds.
