    Description

I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and was Shot by the Taliban depicts the life of Malala Yousafzai and how she came to be the winner of the 2014 Nobel Peace Prize.

    Summary of the Book

It was in the year 2009 that Malala, the little girl who has now become an icon of courage and hope around the world, started writing a blog. She shared her experiences in the Swat Valley under the control of the Taliban. The girls in the valley were not allowed to attend school on several occasions. This wasn’t long before Malala Yousafzai made herself known to the public through her frequent appearances in both Pakistani and international media. She strongly advocated freedom of education for everyone, especially for young girls and women in her valley and throughout the world. When she boarded her school bus in October 2011, she was shot by a gunman as soon as she told him her name. And although one of the bullets went through her forehead and into her shoulder, she endured the attack to come back even stronger, and people from all over the world were on her side of the battle. This is the fully updated edition of I Am Malala, the story of her bravery, which has made her a symbol of grit, peace, and hope.

I am Malala. This is my story.

A heart wrenching story of a brave young girl who did everything she could given her limited means and then some.

The book majorly deals with the life of Malala before the shooting and touches briefly upon the changes in her life after.

The first part of the book deals with a description of her background- her homeland within Pakistan called Swat, her heritage, culture, extended family and immediate family. Although coming from a conservative muslim family, Malala is clearly shaped more by ...

    Really Nice

If one is not given their basic human rights, they must fight until they get it.I completely love the way this book revolves around fighting for the basic human rights granted to each human by the Almighty.Malala serves as an inspiration for girls to stand up for their education and attain it.I salute Malala's strength and dauntless spirit owing to which she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. However,I do doubt the authenticity of the great acts of Malala mentioned in the book. Also, some parag...

    Bad quality

This book is nicely written . I Agree that Malala has suffered a lot in her life. But she is just one of the girls in Pakistan who fight for their right to education and there are millions of girls in Pakistan who suffers the same. But i feel that she was given one of the Greatest awards just because she was shot. That i thought was unnecessary. So much Hike.
So i Rate this Book only 2 .
