    You cannot miss this book!

Well to begin with, I've known Saptadeep since long. But on reading this book, I realised there was so much more to him. "I Was There" can make you feel like a teenager in love, it can make u realise the futility of religion, understand the significance of life and can tear your heart apart with its climax.
More than that what surprises me is how two people who have never met each other, can come up with a story like this. Kudos for your honest effort guys.
Lastly, I would request everyone t...

    A Promising Debut!

The authors have done quite a good job with the somewhat "heavy" theme they have chosen for their first work. The novel moves between the after-world and the real world (in flashback). The eternal questions about human life and death and karma and destiny have been asked and answered in the after-world part. An impossible love story blooms in the misogynistic environs of the state of Haryana, in the real world. The book is quite well written. A bit more of the story and a bit less of the "fun...

    must read!

It is an amazingly jolting contrast of life and death of the protagonist. In this novel we are in a circle of the typical Indian disturbing scenario(family, culture and love) that somehow we can relate to but still reluctant or ignorant towards it and in between the spiritual talks of God and protagonist is soothing and an eye opener too.Its a must read to understand life and to peacefully cope up with the hypocrite society we live in.

    Intriguing read!

Choosing a topic like this for a debut novel needs guts as simply put. And the authors have managed to pull it across very well. There were many places where I had to stop reading the book as tears had clouded my vision. Being a woman in this country I could relate to so many things and yet felt the pain the main lead goes through.

The characters very well sketched, ones that will remain with you for long!!

A story of Romantic Spiritual Journey of every small town girl

Not merely a story. It seemed to me as an in depth realization of life, death and afterlife. Not just Maansi, Bhaanu or Reyaz, it is a story of all youth of modern era. Not just a story of a Girl in Haryana, but it’s the story of every small town Girl of Modern day India. A combination realization so fresh, so mysterious and so adventurous is not easy to find these days. It’s a mixture of social awareness, internal feelings and Spiritual experience. The presentation of characters is fantastic...

    Surprisingly Good

i loved the book. i must confess that it was better than my expectation .i had not hoped for such a deep philosophy about life from young writers. it tries to answer most of the doubts that haunt our minds in bad times. but still it does not get heavy with philosophy. it is a good balance between philosophy and a good story. the interesting thing about the book was love story from the point of view of a girl.its rare to read the emotions and journey from the girls' perspective. entire story i...

    A love story beyond life!

"I was There".....can actually transport you to a world beyond life where you can search your true self. It is a love story and yet so much more than it.....a love of a sister for her siblings, a love of a mother for her daughter, a love of a girl for her "prince charming". And amidst all there brews hatred for that very love.
On the flipside, the world of spirituality that the writer wishes to explore, though fascinating, sometimes tends to slow the story down.
But overall, "I was There" is...
