The generators which use diesel as fuel to run their engine are known as diesel Generators. Diesel engines are used to convert the chemical energy of diesel into mechanical energy. The mechanical energy from the engine is then used to power a moving component known as a rotor, which in turn generates a moving magnetic field around a stationary component known as a stator (a set of conductors wound in coils over an iron ore). This process induces a voltage difference between the winding of the stators, thus producing electricity.
