IES - 2013 CE Civil Engineering: Topicwise Objective Solved Papers (Paper -1) contains previous years’ questions with solutions for Paper I of the IES Civil Engineering exam.
Summary Of The Book
The UPSC conducts exams to select people to fill posts in various government divisions and organizations. One of the major exams it conducts is the IES, which selects candidates for the Engineering Services. The IES exams are conducted in four major branches of engineering, which are Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering.
IES - 2013 CE Civil Engineering: Topicwise Objective Solved Papers (Paper -1) focuses on the Civil Engineering exam. All the IES Exams follow a general pattern. There are the written tests and then the interview or personality test. The written test consists of five papers. Each paper is for 200 marks, so the written exams are for a total of 1000 marks.
The first paper is common for all streams. This is the General Ability exam, an objective style paper. The remaining four papers cover the syllabus for the specific engineering category, in this case, civil engineering. The syllabus for the engineering subjects is divided into two parts. The first two papers of the engineering exam are objective style exams, covering part one and part two of the syllabus. Similarly, the next two papers cover the two parts of the syllabus separately, but these are subjective papers.
This book covers the first of the engineering papers, the Paper I of the objective exam. It focuses on part one of the civil engineering syllabus for the IES. It contains questions from previous years’ Objective Paper I of IES Civil Engineering exam.
These questions have been arranged topicwise, according to the Part One syllabus. All the questions are also provided with solutions. The topics in this book are Design of Steel Structures, Building Materials, Structural Analysis, Solid Mechanics, Construction Practice, Planning & Management, and Design of Concrete and Masonry Structures.
IES - 2013 CE Civil Engineering: Topicwise Objective Solved Papers (Paper -1) provides an idea of the kind of questions that are asked in the IES Objective Type Paper I.
