A very useful and well written book. Author has presented the topics in a very simple and effective way.
I would recommend to all those who wants to know about the economics in much simpler ways.

Book doesn't assume any background of the reader regarding finance/economics. Great example/case studies in between the text to give a practical angle to the discussed topic. Important terms given at the end of each chapter with their defination for quick revision.

This book is a suggested reading in many premier B-School in India. After reading this financial decisions taken by Govt./RBI/ Budget will make more sense than you can even imagaine.

The book is written in very lucid manner and aimed at arousing your curiosity, which writer did perfectly. The book having truckload of information is presented in in a non-tabular and non-numerics way, and the discussion around the information is really nice, with great analogies and real examples.

I must advise others(who are from non economics background) to go through this book to gain a 3D view of economics.

Author has done wonderful job in writing this in simple language without using lot of economics jargon and best thing about this book is that every concept has been backed up with an example (an example that we all are familiar with and happening around us). Author summarizes what you have learnt at every chapter. Last but not the least book is handy and it has rich cover page, good font

if you are looking for something to know the basics, and build interest in the subject, then i suggest you should go for this book , it uses simple language and relate concepts to day to day life, but if academic use is your objective then better go with traditional ones as they are better equipped for the purpose . :) good luck !!

I bought this book several months ago from Flipkart and read it again recently. And I must say this book is a keeper. The author has explained key concepts in easy to read, easy to understand words, and I and my wife both enjoyed our re-learning. We are looking forward to reading Dr. Deodhar's next book.
