A succinct account of a brilliant film editor's views and theories about all that goes into editing a film. This is not a 'how to' book, it is a book for those who seek to understand the organic nature of cinema and how an editor must help relay it on screen.

I was suggested by many to read this for better understand filmmaking and film editing. I will suggest reading ''grammar of the edit- by Christopher bowen and roy thomson'' before reading this to understand film editing.
