Classy product

This small book contains a wealth of first-hand knowledge about the mysteries of giving birth to a film. I think it is of immense value to professionals & film buffs alike.
WALTER MURCH is the only editor I know who actually sleeps with his films. In fact, Murch has a love affair with every film he's involved with. "IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE" is his chronicle passions. It's where he finally tells us some of the intimate details of these affairs. Not for those who cannot love film.

The book is divided into two parts i.e the film editing in which you ...

excellent but not for fresh students

hello everyone. this book is a goldmine of film editing. the legendary editor shares his experiences in a very lucid way. but beginners should avoid reading this. the writers experience helps him to note certain factors mostly based on esthetics of cinema.now a fresher might lose his focus on the technical part. which is the most important for a beginner. this book is useful to those who understand the basic of films. read other books on basic film theory and film making. practice a bit to un...

A must read for all film students.

A succinct account of a brilliant film editor's views and theories about all that goes into editing a film. This is not a 'how to' book, it is a book for those who seek to understand the organic nature of cinema and how an editor must help relay it on screen.
