About Bipan Chandra

Bipan Chandra is an Indian historian who specializes in economic and political history of modern India. He has specialized in the national movement and is known as India’s foremost scholars on Mahatma Gandhi. One of his well-known books is The Rise and Growth of Economic Nationalism. He was a lecturer for many years and then a reader at Hindu College, Delhi. He was also Chairman of the National Book Trust in New Delhi from the year 2004 to 2012.
