A must read for everyone who loves exploring India & Indian food

The simplicity of the narration, seasoned well with sharing of the emotional highs and lows and the background stories of the places visited make it a joyful read. It is not just a recipe book but an experience on its own. There are about 50 recipes from 25 states that have been written keeping in mind to share the terms in Hindi along with the English names, in an easy to follow format.

The narration is interesting and the travelogue captures the beautiful landscapes & food memories built w...

Good mix of travel and food stories.

Nice fun read. If you are looking for a good mix of travel stories and food, you will like the book. Saransh's recipes are experimental, easy to whip up and accessible in terms of the ingredients used etc. The traditional, regional foods that he talks about may not have the recipes mentioned, but they at least give you a starting point to look for recipes on the internet. Overall, nice honest book.

Below average !!!

It is just a glorified cook book. Expected it to showcase the history behind the food taste of every Indian state, but it failed to do so. Has some good sprinkled here and there. Overall, it is a below average book.

A travelogue to read definitely

A collection of mixture of culture , travel , recipes of different states , the climate and at last the best dishes in each city on the way of travel defines India on my platter. Saransh goila , the author have mixed all these and gave us a good book + variety of dishes to cook as well.
On the whole , a reader who would like to read , about travel , food , culture, religious destinations should read this book.
Still there are many places of visits to every state, but due to the time constrai...

Must read for a food lover, maker and savourer.

A dream each one of us had, we still have- to undertake a pan-India journey and top it with tasting delicacies from every corner of the country. Saransh lived this dream. The book starts with a foreword from India's legendary chef Sanjeev Kapoor and then a short prologue by Saransh himself explaining how he happened to bump into this golden oppurtunity of travelling around India. He then goes on to narrate his epic journey of 100 days- One day at a time. Various recipes are also mentioned wit...

Travelogue from a budding Chef's heart

It is a fairly easy read and can be read in one sitting. I like how Saransh has described some unique experiences, eg. his visit to the sacred kitchen of The Golden Temple in Amritsar and serving langar as 'Seva', his experience of having food on the go - literally in the middle of the road with the truckers of North India, and many more such wonderful travel nuggets.
All in all I felt the book, was not from a thorough writer (riddled with some grammar errors and typos) but from a traveller ...

A good amalgamation of culinary & travel

“INDIA ON MY PLATTER” is a book worth cherishing. It is a book which will be used by the ladies of our houses whenever they need to refer to some delicacy’s recipe and ingredients.
It will also be referred whenever we need to look for few places worth visiting while going on a holiday to a particular place.
It is more of a book for keeps, rather than just a single read. I especially loved the honesty with which every single thing has been mentioned. however, if you are not a foodie, this book...
