Green Wars, compiled by the wildlife biologist and journalist Bahar Dutt, is a book that dispatches stories from a vanishing world of wild life.

    Summary of the Book

Bahar Dutt has travelled to the nooks and corners of the planet in search of some of the biggest and the much less told stories of environment of our time. This includes tales from drastic climate change to construction of big dams in lush tropical rainforests to illicit mining. Most of the stories concerning our environment go unreported, as the activities carried out by us are mostly associated with the intention of economic progress. This happens not only in India but across the world, and they end up having serious implications on the ecological balance. Bahar Dutt tries to find a balance between our inevitable growth in terms of economy and conserving wild life and other environmental factors to avoid a looming catastrophe. Green Wars goes beyond the pomposity of the TV debates, with its sharp, well-researched genuine concern. Dutt also recalls some of the most exciting and poignant moments from her journey. She explains how many creatures face an unsteady future due to reckless human activities.

    Interesting one

I received the book on the promised date. However, the condition in which the book arrived was bad. It has stains on edges which were already rumpled. To add to it, the book looks old and used from every corner and had no plastic cover. This is the first incidence where I have experienced a lack in service by flipkart. I must say, it came from an altogether different seller this time. I paid extra delivery charges for the book inspite of my total order far exceeding the minimum amount and I a...
